Arts in Health Care workshop: October 12, 2010, 9 a.m. – noon (TUESDAY)

Free workshop open to health care staff, arts organizations artists and volunteers with an interest in arts and health care.

Request for Artist Proposals Deadline: October 15, 2010 (NEXT FRIDAY)

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, through the Percent for Art program, is requesting proposals for existing and newly commissioned artwork and craftwork for interior and exterior spaces of the New Hampshire Army National Guard, Construction and Facilities Management Office, Building F in Concord, NH.

This Percent for Art project was made possible through State Arts Funds approved in the State Capital budget in fiscal year 2005.

Deadline: Postmarked on or before October 15, 2010, or delivered to the NH State Council on the Arts, 2½ Beacon St., Concord, NH, by 4:15 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010.

2010 Statewide Arts Education Conference, “Field of Vision”: October 22-24, 2010

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts' annual Statewide Arts Education Conference offers professional development for educators and teaching artists.

The conference includes inspiring presentations, workshops, resources and networking opportunities for artists, educators and community supporters of arts in education. Each year the conference explores a new theme and presents local, regional and nationally respected leaders in the field of arts education. The theme for the 2010 conference is “Field of Vision.”
Takes place at the AMC Highland Center, Crawford Notch, Bretton Woods on October 22-24, 2010.

New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) Info Session, “Funding Opportunities and Services for New England’s Nonprofits and Artists”: October 13, 2010, 4-6 p.m. (WEDNESDAY)

Learn the answers to these questions and much more at NEFA’s info session for organizations and performing artists. This info session will cover information on: expedition grants, Meet the Composer/New England grants, New England States Touring (NEST) grants, the Presenter Travel Fund and more.

This event is FREE and takes place at Marlboro College Graduate Center in Brattleboro, VT, on October 13, 2010, 4-6 p.m.

Concord Literary Festival: October 21-23, 2010

Presented by the NH Writers Project and more than 30 community partners as part of the NH Writers' Trail.

Events throughout the Festival include book discussions, readings and signings; a poetry slam; panel discussions; workshops and more.

Kick-off event takes place Thursday,October 14, as Ted Kooser, a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet who writes the weekly “American Life in Poetry” column for many newspapers around the country, received the first-ever Hall-Kenyon Award.
